Booking & Rates

To book a session at Friends of Friends Recording, please reach out to us via phone call or email us through our contact page. We suggest booking 4-6 weeks out in advance.

The cost of a session at FOF is based on what work is needed and for how many days.

For a detailed project quote, please reach out via email (we’re quick to respond - promise!)

  • We do day rates for recording at Friends of Friends Recording set at $500/day.

    This is inclusive of;

    • the studio space

    •Brok's time engineering

    • all in-house backline and equipment

    We do this for a few reasons, but mostly to try and mitigate potential artist anxiety stemming from having to manage a clock during sessions and keeping the space focused on the artist's vision for that day.

    A full recording day here starts at 10am and goes till 6pm, with a lunch break, unless we've discussed otherwise.

    For times where an artist might need 2 hours or so to revise something quickly, we can also do hourly at $75/hr (2 hour min).

  • For stereo mixing, we do flat rates of $400/song. For projects with over 10 songs, we charge $350/song for each additional song (after the first 10 songs).

    That includes;

    • all revisions

    • alternative mix versions (instrumental, clean, tv/show, acapella, etc)

    • mixed stems

    We are now offering mixing in Dolby Atmos as well! Here’s a link to rates and info on this process.

    We also have a Patreon where we live stream mix sessions for our subscribers to learn about the mixing process. If you'd like your music to be considered for this and get a potential discount on your mixing apply here!

  • For mastering, we do $100/song. For projects with more than 10 songs, we charge $75/additional song (after the first 10).

    That includes;

    • all revisions

    • alternate master versions when needed & provided with the final mix (instrumental, clean, tv/show etc).

  • If you are a freelance producer/engineer hoping to use our studio space for your own clientele, you are welcome with a professional reference or with an assistant FOF engineer present for your session.

    The cost of the studio for freelancers (without Brok engineering) is $300/day (plus the assistant engineer rate if needed). Or $30/hr (2hr min).

    An assistant engineer is $150/day if needed or required.

  • Are you looking to just get you or your bands song recorded and ready for release?

    For some, an affordable, flat-bundled rate and process might be more helpful rather than navigating all the different scheduling needed to have a finished song.

    For $500, we offer a 1 day, 8 hour session of recording and mixing for one single (with mastering post your session) and 1 round of mix and mastering revisions*.

    This option is ideal for:

    • artists wanting time to track final vocals and production on a single

    • bands wanting to record live with minimal overdubs

    • artists that have a well developed idea of their songs parts and production

    • folks that want a quick, easy and professional option to get a single ready for release

    *Each additional revision past your first is an additional $50

To lock in a session date, we ask for a 50% deposit for the work to be done. The final payment will be due when the service is rendered (final mixes, masters, or the date of your recording session).
