Booking & Rates

To book a session at Friends of Friends Recording, please reach out to us via phone call or email us through our contact page. We suggest booking at least 4-6 weeks out in advance.

The cost of a session at FOF is based on what work is needed and for how many days.

For a detailed project quote, please reach out via email (we’re quick to respond - promise!)

  • We have 2 engineers on site, Brok Mende (Chief engineer) and Gabriella Eugenio (House Engineer). The rate will adjust slightly depending on who you’d like to engineer your session.

    For Brok we do $550/day, for Gabriella $500/day.

    This is inclusive of everything (engineer, studio, gear, etc) you need to make a record. This time can be used for recording, mixing or mastering but only covers the work happening during the time you have booked in the studio (so make sure to ask for rough mixes before the end of your session etc). If you’d like a flat rate that includes revisions we’d suggest looking at our mixing and mastering rates.

    We do this for a few reasons, but mostly to try and mitigate potential artist anxiety stemming from having to manage a clock during sessions and keeping the space focused on the artist's vision for that day.

    A full recording day here starts at 10am and goes till 6pm, with a lunch break, unless we've discussed otherwise.

    For times where an artist might need 2 hours or so to revise something quickly, we can also do hourly at $85/hr with Brok or $75/hr with Gabriella.

    Note, if trying to record anything with drums you have to book at least 4hrs (to help with how involved getting a drum sound can be and insure you get the sounds you need).

  • For stereo mixing, we do flat rates of $400/song.

    That includes;

    • all revisions

    • alternative mix versions (instrumental, clean, tv/show, acapella, etc)

    • mixed stems

    • A virtual mix review session where you can listen to mix changes in real time and give feedback and notes

    We are now offering mixing in Dolby Atmos as well! Here’s a link to rates and info on this process.

  • For mastering, we do $100/song.

    That includes;

    • all revisions

    • alternate master versions when needed & provided with the final mix (instrumental, clean, tv/show etc).

  • If you are a freelance producer/engineer hoping to use our studio space for your own clientele, you are welcome with a professional reference or with an assistant FOF engineer present for your session.

    The cost of the studio for freelancers (without Brok or Gabriella engineering) is $300/day (plus the assistant engineer rate if needed). Or $30/hr (2hr min).

    An assistant engineer is an additional $200/day if needed or required. For multiple day bookings you are welcome to have an assistant the first day to help get you and your engineer comfortable in the space and then not have the assistant for the following days.

To lock in a session date, we ask for a 50% deposit for the work to be done. The final payment will be due when the service is rendered (final mixes, masters, or the date of your recording session). We accept cash, bank payment, Paypal, Quickpay, Venmo, and can accept cards (debit/credit) with a 3% transaction fee added.
